Chief Edosa Ojeh, a Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), representing Ake Igbanke Community in Edo State, South-South Nigeria, has applauded President Tinubu’s over the new tax reform policy.
The APC Chieftain, during the birthday ceremony of an eminent son of Igbanke land, Chief Johnson Igwe, said the new tax policy was designed to shift the tax burden from the poor to the rich, reminiscing that in the current arrangement, consumers paid taxes for buying a bag of locally-processed garri.
“The Tax Reform Policy of President Tinubu’s Administration will pay off” Chief Ojeh added.
He stressed that the new tax reform policy would be a landmark achievement of the Tinubu administration because the Intention of Mr. President was “to stop over-labouring petty traders and shift tax payments to large-scale business owners in the country”.
The APC Chieftain enjoined Nigerians to embrace and support the tax reform.
Chief Ojeh further stated that the new tax reform policy would encourage competition among various states in the country because, according to him, it would boost economic activities and attract more allocations from the Federation Account.
In his final remark, the APC Chieftain commended President Tinubu for his strong and resilient will to moving Nigeria forward.
He said with President Tinubu being at the helm of affairs, Nigeria would rise from the doldrums.
Chief Ojeh applauded his “brother and friend Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff, to the President, for guiding President Tinubu in making decisive decisions”.
He said, with Mr. Gbajabiamila’s wealth of experience, Nigeria would triumph again.
He also saluted his “good friend Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), for his role in transforming the Nigeria Police to be more efficient and professional”.
The APC Chieftain also saluted the Edo State Governor, His Excellency, Monday Okpebholo, for his determination to transforming Edo to a mega state.
He also assured the Ake Igbanke Community that Nwonbu Deity would restore peace in the land again.
