Draw for the 2015 GTBank Masters Cup held in Lagos yesterday at the Ansar ud-Deen Girls High School, Itire with representatives of the sponsors and all the participating schools in attendance.
Formerly called Heritage Cup, the GTBank Masters Cup competition is open to premier secondary schools in Lagos. The schools are spread across public, missionary and private schools.
Twenty one boys and 12 girls secondary school teams were involve in the draw.
In the mate category, which St Gregory’s are the defending champions, the teams were drawn into four groups of four teams each. Only one group had five teams.
The defending champions, St Greg’s are in Group E, alongside ANDROA International School, CMS Grammar School and Greensprings Schools. Runners up in the last edition, St Fimbar’s College are in Group B with FGC Ijanikin, Crisland College and Whitesand College.
Jubril Martins School will slug it out in Group C with Corona College and Methodist Boys High School. King’s College, Ansar ud-Deen College, Isolo, Baptist Academy and Eko Boys High School are pitched in Group A while Western College, FSTC Yaba, Dowen College and International School Lagos are in Group D.
In the female category, the twelve schools were drawn into four groups of three teams each with the record-winners and holders, Queens College Yaba leading Group C which will parade the likes of ANDROA International School and Western College.
Group A parades Ansar ud-Deen Girls High School, Itire, Methodist Girls High School and Jubril Martins.
Group B has Ansar ud-Deen Isolo, Corona College and Holy Child College, Ikoyi while Grop D will parade FGC Ijanikin, Greensprings Schools and FSTC Yaba.
The kick off date has not been fixed yet.
