Immediate past Minister of State for Education, Nyesom Wike, has said he will restore ‘stomach infrastructure’ in the state, if voted into power.
Wike, who addressed journalists in Port Harcourt at the weekend, unveiled what he called, a nine-point blueprint for the accelerated development of Rivers State, if elected governor in 2015.
According to him, he only accepted what he described as a clarion call by the people of the state to contest for the position of a governor.
“After deep prayers and extensive consultations with relevant stakeholders, I have accepted the call and the challenge to contest the 2015 governorship election in Rivers State.
“We know where we shall be on May 29, 2015. We are very clear about our purpose in the new government to pursue a new vision of prosperity for every indigene and resident of Rivers State.
“Our vision is direct and clear. We shall lead by action; visible, tangible and measurable results shall speak for us, not rhetoric and unnecessary showmanship. We shall set milestones to deliver specific and targeted projects that will have direct, immediate, short term and long term impacts on the people of Rivers State.
“We will prove to the world that a good friend is better than a bad brother, suffice it to say that our focal points under the new Rivers vision project will include- restoration of unity, restoration of respect and dignity for elders of the state, restoration of stomach infrastructure and empowerment, restoration of transparency, accountability, fiscal discipline and frugality in government. “Restoration of cordial relationship and collaboration with the centre to accept projects. Restoration of politics of maturity and away from infantile activism, restoration of peace and security in Rivers as well as the restoration of failed infrastructure in Rivers State.
“The chain of events in political and social economic space of Rivers State have confronted us with daunting and peculiar challenges.
“However, we strongly believe that everything is working together for good for us. We shall therefore, not shy away from the onerous task of rescuing, rebuilding and restoring our state,” he stated.
Nyesom Wike is just an empty politician without any discernable vision. It will be tragic if he is imposed on Rivers people by Mrs Patience Jonathan in 2015 Governorship election.
I advise our people to reject him because if his agberoic political activities. He is incapable of any organized leadership.
Wike is the worst thing that will ever happen to Rivers State should PDP impose him on the state. He has no vision, though he has a mission – to steal, kill and destroy the state in just the same manner he murdered education in Nigeria. Though I’m not a Rivers man, I weep for the state ‘cos history will never forgive all the people that plan this impending calamity called Wike.
