The Nigerian Online Merit Awards (NIOMA) has given the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) best website of the year 2018 award in the ministries, departments and agencies category.
NIOMA is designed to celebrate outstanding individuals and corporate bodies driving the Nigerian online revolution. It evaluates and rates the websites of credible institutions using such criteria as content- error free website pages, best use of photography, clear and concise posts, up to date/current relevant information to the public and number of visitations to websites, interactive user interface-feedback/ response mechanism, simplicity and easy use of feedback channels.
NIOMA proclaimed that based on the assessment carried out on MDAs’ websites, that of NCC presented the most interactive, current, relevant and error free site aside from its unique design and simplicity, visitors’ experience and also that the commission was noted for best use of social media networks to promote visibility and interaction with its various stakeholders in the industry.
The awarding body stated that the objective of the honour was to foster the growth and development of the online platform for the promotion of businesses online. The awards provide innovative online sites with the visibility and reputation they deserve.
It can be recalled that NCC received 3 outstanding awards in 2017 from Phillips Consulting with best performing website being one of them.
The Minister of Communications Technology, Barr. Adebayo Shittu bagged Minister of the Year award in the ministerial category.
Head, information technology, NCC, Abraham Oshadami received the award on behalf of the commission and said the commission was committed to doing more for the development of humanity.
