Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama and midfielder Ogenyi Onazi have been pardoned by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) that sanctioned the two players over disciplinary conducts on and off the pitch, during the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Chad in Abuja.
Enyeama, had questioned the choice of Kaduna as the match venue, while Onazi was involved in a brawl, which led his eviction from the match, he was also fined 5,000 by the NFF.
However, NFF disciplinary committee chairman, Chris Green said in Abuja that both players will now be allowed to breath.
“That the NFF did not take any action about the offence committed by Enyeama means that he has been forgiven. Now he is free to play for the Super Eagles. Enyeama’s case has been looked into and he has been pardoned and can go ahead to lead the Eagles in the next match of the 2017 AFCON.
“Some of us also pleaded on behalf of Onazi for the $5,000 fine to be removed.
“Ogenyi Onazi has also been pardoned and cleared to play for the Eagles,” Green said.
