Nigeria beat Seychelles in dead rubber AFCON qualifier

The Super Eagles of Nigeria rounded up their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign with a home 3-1 win over Seychelles in Asaba on Friday evening.

The triumph ensured that the Super Eagles finished as group winners having already qualified for the tournament.

Top scorer Odion Ighalo scored first from the penalty spot while Galatasaray forward Henry Onyekuru added the second with a beautiful header.

The Seychelles side although equalized Ighalo’s effort, Levante man Moses Simon added the last goal almost immediately he came in for the injured Shanghai forward.

The Super Eagles will now be facing Egypt in an International friendly on Wednesday, 27th March at the same venue.
