The Super Eagles on Monday evening commenced effective training in London, ahead of next month’s World Cup in Brazil.
A statement issued by Ben Alaiya, the Super Eagles Media Officer, said the team’s training session held at the Fulham FC training ground.
It said 28 players out of the 30 invited participated in the training session as Italy-based Nnamdi Oduamadi and Sunday Mba in France had hitches with their travelling documents.
The statement quoted the Team Secretary, Dayo Achor, as explaining that the duo were scheduled to make it to the team’s camp any time from now, a development, Head Coach, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, frowned at.
The statement, however, said the technical crew was happy with the response of the entire squad towards arrival in camp and the friendship that existed among all the players.
“It’s one big family here and this is the spirit we should carry to the World Cup,” Lille of France goalie Vincent Enyeama was quoted as saying.
The statement also said there were no injury worries with the team, as all the players had been to the gym to maintain fitness before Monday’s training.
It also said the players were happy with the recall of team captain, Joseph Yobo and Osaze Odemwengie.
Yobo, was quoted as assuring to justify the confidence reposed in him, while Osaze said his recall was a family reunion that was bound to affect the fortunes of the team at the World Cup. (NAN)
