Airtel Nigeria said it plans to increase its subscribers’ base from the current 27 million to 32 million and is counting on the impetus from its flagship Red Hot promo
The target of 5million subscribers’ increment representing a 19% growth target is expected to be achieved within the next 60 days.
The telco gave the hint in Lagos on Wednesday during the presentation of prices to the winners of its ongoing Red Hot Promo Season Two.
Airtel said its massive investments on network and service infrastructure are now paying off and assured customers assurance of continued value service delivery.
Speaking at the presentation of cheques to the first set of winners in ongoing Airtel Red Hot Promo Season Two in Lagos, Mr. Kenechukwu Okonkwo , head, High Value Segment, Airtel Nigeria, said the network capacity is prepared to accommodate additional subscribers with the volume of recent investment put on infrastructure.
He said, “There is huge infrastructure deficit in the industry but on our network this has headlong being addressed by investing to expand on the network coverage to penetrate undeserved areas across the country.”
According to him, the promo which is in the second series also aim to reach out to loyal subscribers on the network as a way of rewarding their loyalties.
He said the cheques presentation was to show emergence of new set of millionaires in the Red Hot Promo Season 2 as well as encourage other subscribers.
It was moment of joy for Mr. Tijani Wasiu, a hotel Manager in Lagos; Mr. Augustine Adugba, a clergy man who hails from Abia State; Mr. Omotosho Adeyanju, a retired banker who hails from Oyo State and a self-employed wielder from Ogun, Mr. Kehinde Fasanya received their cheques on Wednesday 10th December 2014 at the Airtel Red Hot promo press conference and prize presentation to winners held in GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.
Another Airtel customer, a 25 year-old Youth Corp member, Adesoji Omoboriowo, also emerged winner of One million Naira in the promo, but was not at the event as he is currently undergoing his National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) orientation in Abia State.
The event was attended by representatives from the Consumer Protection Council (CPC), TCQ&A, an independent organisation saddled with the responsibility of ensuring transparency in the Red Hot promo. Agency report
