Trainer, Ike Shorunmu, says the return of the team’s captain and goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, to the fold has created a new buzz in the squad ahead of Saturday’s Morocco 2015 African Nations Cup qualifier against Sudan.
The Super Eagles’ players, all expected to be in their Abuja camp yesterday, will begin preparation for the first leg of the double header against the Sudanese today.
Speaking to The Guardian yesterday, the former senior national team goalkeeper said Enyeama’s presence would boost the morale of the players in the must win cracker, adding that the Lille of France star’s experience and composure between the sticks was capable of dousing the pressure on the Eagles as they confront Sudan.
He disclosed that preparations for the encounter were in top gear as the players were expected at their Bolton Apartment Abuja yesterday ahead today’s training session.
“The commitment Enyeama always displays in camp would go a long way in pushing the players to give their best in the AFCON qualifier.
“The technical crew would resume training with the domestic players today pending when their foreign-based counterparts join the team later in the day.
“Most of the players invited for the game will arrive Nigeria on Monday and all the players are expected to be in camp for Tuesday morning’s training session and Keshi is working hard to raise a solid team for the match.
“Everything is under control… the players are aware of the position we are in and I am sure the team is poised to book the AFCON ticket. The technical crew would not relent until we put smiles on the faces of Nigerians,” he said. Agency report
