President Muhammadu Buhari has left the country for New York, where he is scheduled to address the 72 Session of the United Nation General Assembly.
The theme for this year’s Debate is: “Focusing on People: Striving for Peace and a Decent Life for All on a Sustainable Planet.”
President Buhari will join other world leaders at the welcoming reception to be hosted by the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, and also hold a bilateral meeting with the UN scribe.
The President, shortly before his trip, had a closed door meeting with Hon. Kashim Shettima, the governor of Borno state/Chairman Northern Governors Forum, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje Kano Governor and Aminu Tambuwal Sokoto Governor.
The Presidency had earlier disclosed that Pres. Buhari will visit London for unspecified reasons after attending the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said this in a statement on Friday.
