Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, has invited 23 players for his side’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying double-header against the Central African Republic, CAR.
The list which was released on Thursday contained the name of Glasgow Rangers left-back Calvin Ughelumba Bassey.
21-year-old Ughelumba was born in Italy and is eligible to play for Italy, Nigeria or England at international level.
Bassey joined Premier League club Leicester City at the age of 15 after a successful trial and progressed through the club’s youth ranks, with regular appearances for the clubs’ U-18 and U-23 sides.
He joined Rangers from Premier League club Leicester City last summer.
Nigeria will host the Central African Republic (CAR) in a matchday-three fixture at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, on Thursday, October 7.
The reverse tie will take place on October 10 in Douala.
