The former Senate President, Ken Nnamani has said there is no room for succession crisis regarding the choice of a replacement for the incumbent governor of Enugu state, Mr. Sullivan Chime, adding that his successor will come from the Enugu North Senatorial zone.
Against the background of alleged brewing face-off between the State Governor, Sullivan Chime and some other prominent leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Nnamani said that as far the 2015 governorship election is concerned, the state has a well programmed succession plan which has zoned the position to the people of Enugu North.
The former Senate President who is an indigene of Enugu State told journalists in an interview that the controversy surrounding the 2015 governorship election in Enugu State has been settled following a reconciliatory meeting held among Peoples Democratic Party stakeholders with a consensus that power should shift to Enugu North Senatorial zone.
“Enugu state does not seem to have any succession problem because we have a conventional understanding that when Enugu East completed its eight years, it went to Enugu West and after Enugu West, it is only proper that governorship power should go to Enugu North. It is not written anywhere but it is conventional”, he said
