An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and former Police Commissioner, Alhaji Afusa Ogunrinde, has lambasted some Nigerians over their criticism and inflammatory remarks against popular businessman Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, over his appointment as the South-East Coordinator of City Boy Movement ahead of the 2027 elections.
Ogunrinde, fondly called Baba Afusa, said those attacking the businessman were envious of the appointment and wished they got the nod instead.
The APC Chieftain bluntly described the detractors as brainless illiterates.
“They are ignorant people for abusing Obi Cubana for accepting to work for APC. They know nothing and they do not care about the nation”. he added.
Chief Ogunrinde posited that national interest overrode personal interest and hailed the appointment of Obi Cubana as a welcome development.
He said the president had shown he had not been a tribalist, rather, interested in inclusivity of all tribes in other to drive Nigeria’s growth and prosperity.
In his final remark, Baba Afusa saluted President Bola Tinubu (GCON), for his exemplary leadership, prowess and willingness to work and include Nigerians from all spheres.
He also thanked the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, for guiding the President in the right direction saying his expertise had been of immense benefit to the country.
Chief Ogunrinde also saluted his friend, Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), for revamping and restoring dignity and effectiveness in the Nigeria Police, adfing that the President had the best hands on board to lead Nigeria to greatness.
He enjoined Nigerians to be patient with President Tinubu as he possessed all the attributes and potentials to lead the country to greater heights.
