The Yobe State Executive Council has approved N1.4 billion for security, education and the upgrade of government house, Damaturu.
The state Commissioner of Information, Mala Musti disclosed this to newsmen, shortly after the State Executive Council meeting presided over by Yobe state Deputy Governor, Abubakar Ali, on Wednesday, in Damaturu.
Musti said, in an effort to assist security agencies maintain peace and harmony in the state, the council has approved N350 million for the procurement of 20 Toyota 4WD Hilux operational vehicles for them.
He said the council had approved N972.39 million to pay 2017/18 tuition for 840 students sponsored by the state government at Nigeria Tulip International Collage in Mamudo, Kano, Kaduna and Abuja.
“This has been the utmost priority of Governor Gaidam administration, over the years, to provide free and qualitative education to our indigenous students in all spheres,” he said
He said the council had also approved N82.1 million for external works of dwarf wall, interlock tiles, Gatehouse and re-rendering of perimeter wall of new 750-capacity banquet Hall at the Government House Damaturu.
