The Enugu State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, ECCIMA, yesterday, disclosed that over 350 firms, including participation drawn from seven countries will be witnessed at the 27th Enugu International Trade Fair scheduled to commence March 25 and end April 4.
This year’s 10-days fair titled, “Diversification of the Nation’s Economy: from Rhetorics to Coordinated action” will focus on the agricultural sector towards boosting indulgence in agricultural production and commercial farming in a bid to diversify the economy.
The event will hold at the International Trade Fair Complex Permanent site along Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway.
While briefing newsmen at ECCIMA Secretariat, the President, Mr. Ugochukwu Chime, revealed that specific areas have been designated for the exhibition of new products, prototypes, innovations and research findings for commercialization as a panacea for economic diversification.
According to Chime,” over 350 firms will participate and we are expecting exhibitors from Ghana, Cameroon, Canada, South Korea, Singapore, South Africa among others to exchange ideas on ways to bring technological advancement to the individual countries.
“We are hopeful that we are going to receive the support of Enugu State government towards the rehabilitation of internal roads within the fair complex for a more amenable atmosphere for vehicular and human traffic. As part of our efforts to boost the success of the fair, we shall embark on strategic sensitization tours and consolidating our marketing with visits to stakeholders both in public and private sector in Lagos, Abuja and other parts of the country.”
