Boko Haram terrorists have issued another video threat yet to be uploaded on ‘Youtube’ to the federal government, thus saying that only war, not dialogue, existed between the terrorists and the federal government.
This was made known via series of tweets on Saturday by Ahmad Salkida, a journalist speculated to be close to Boko Haram.
According to him, “Abubakar Shekau has just released a video on Chibok girls that were recently swapped with his fighters. “The video yet to be uploaded on youtube was made available to Salkida.com.
“The video has Shuaibu Moni, one of the swapped Boko Haram commanders issuing threats to Nigerian authorities and its president.
“The commander in the video declared that it is not true that only five commanders were released, warning of imminent bombing in Abuja. “He further said that there’s be no ‘Salhu’ dialogue with government and there won’t be. Only war is between us, he declared.
“Two videos were posted to me this evening, the first feature Boko Haram fighters and the second one featured three Chibok girls.
“The Chibok girl that spoke in the video today holding an AK47 riffle is Maida Yakubu,” he finally tweeted.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army on Saturday said threats issued by recently released Boko Haram members in a video clip distributed by the group is just propaganda and should be ignored.
A statement by Army spokesman Brigadier General Sani Usan said the attention of Nigerian Army has been drawn to two video clips released by one of the released Boko Haram terrorists in exchange for the abducted Chibok school girls.
He said: “in the first clip the terrorist, among other things, made boastful and spurious allegations, while the second clip was about alleged indoctrination of some of the abducted Chibok school girls in captivity.”
He added that: “We wish to state that the terrorist has lost touch with current realities. It was aimed at seeking relevance and attention.”
“As you are all aware, he was a direct beneficiary of the process that led to the release of 82 of the abducted girls, and does not have a say or capacity to do anything, therefore his threats should be ignored.” Usman said.
He further said: “We would like to assure the public that the Nigerian Army is totally committed to the Federal Government’s determined efforts of rescuing all abducted persons and peace in the country.”
He said the army would not relent efforts of clearing the remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists through the ongoing clearance operations.
He also said the Nigerian Air Force is unrelenting in its bombardment while other Security Agencies are equally doing their best.
He said: “Therefore, we wish to solicit for more support, cooperation and understanding of the public, particularly members of the Press.”
“We should not give in to terrorists propaganda and empty threats. We have come to a very critical stage of the fight against terrorism and insurgency in Nigeria that require more patriotism and security consciousness by all and sundry.
“Gone were the days when people glamorize terrorists and their criminal acts,” The Army statement said.
On Saturday, three suicide bombers were killed when they attempted to infiltrate the Department of Works of University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) in Borno State.
A security guard at the University was also killed from the explosions. Meanwhile, the corpses have being evacuated by rescuers from National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and Borno State Emergency Management Agency whose (BOSEMA).
It was gathered that the university authorities and security agencies would provide more updates on the attack.
