The Police Service Commission, PSC, has warned Nigerians interested in joining the Nigeria Police Force, especially with the presidential pronouncement on the recruitment of 10,000 policemen, to beware of fraudsters who will want to take advantage of the pronouncement to dupe unsuspecting applicants.
Chairman of the commission, Mike Okiro, who confirmed this to newsmen on Tuesday in Abuja said that the Commission has not started the recruitment exercise and that no application form for recruitment has been released.
Okiro said the Commission and the Nigeria Police Force are currently working out the details, stressing that when completed, the Commission will publicize the commencement of the recruitment exercise in line with the requirements of the law.
He warned that the Police will not hesitate to arrest and prosecute anybody caught selling Police recruitment forms or collecting money from intending applicants in the pretext of helping them to get employed.
