The Sapele, Okpe community, in conjunction with SEPLAT, on Thursday trained members of the community and empowered them with starter packs.
The skill acquisition programme, which started months ago in various fields like catering, welding and fabrication, aluminium work, wood work, fashion and design, piggery endy on Thursday with beneficiaries given starter kity in the various skill they have acquired.
The Chairman of Sapele/ Okpe Community, Dr. Patrick Akamovba, said that the programme was organised with the objective of assisting the youths to be independent and employers of labour.
“It is a rare privilege to be among beneficiaries, the program is to assist people to get out of poverty and start a business with the starter packs and cash that they have received”, he said.
Akamovba also stated that the programme since its inception has been able to touch lives positively through the support of SEPLAT.
