One person lost his life last weekend in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State, while two others sustained injuries, following their insistence to vote in the area, when they were not qualified to do so.
The deceased and the two others injured were said to have insisted on voting in a polling unit in the area, despite warning from other voters that they were not to vote.
It was learned that their refusal to heed the warning resulted in a fight with other voters, following which the deceased (names withheld) was axed and he died instantly, while the two others sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment in an unnamed hospital.
Chairman of the local government, Alhaji Mustapha Anka, said it was true that the tragedy occurred, but that security agents were called in, who immediately restored order to the area before things got out of hands. Agency report
