The Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy has successfully secured a $200 million investment from the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) to enhance Nigeria’s creative industry.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the ministry announced that this investment was revealed during an event titled “Destination 2030: Nigeria Everywhere” at the recent United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
The ministry highlighted that the “Destination 2030” initiative aims for Nigeria to establish itself as a global leader in soft power by the year 2030.
According to the ministry, as of 2024, there has been a 36 percent increase in Nigeria’s cultural influence and an 18 percent rise in the brand perception index, showcasing the effectiveness of Nigeria’s cultural diplomacy on the world stage.
Hannatu Musawa, Minister of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, addressed investors at the event, emphasizing that Nigeria’s rich artistic heritage continues to garner international interest and offers promising investment opportunities.
Musawa stated that the country’s cultural excellence and its global impact in the arts position Nigeria as a key player in the global creative economy.
