Kwara women endorse Governor Ahmed for second term

The women folk in Kwara State, under the auspices of  the National Council of Women Societies, NCWS, have observed that the achievements of the State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed signpost a need for his second term in office.
The President of NCWS in Kwara State, Hajia Barakat Atunse gave the endorsement during a courtesy visit by the women body to Governor Ahmed in his office at the Government House, Ilorin.
“Without being rhetorical, Sir, your shared prosperity project contents is having far reaching positive effect on Kwarans. It is devolving and trickling down to the door steps of all Kwarans regardless of political colouration or inclination. The project touches on Employment, Education, Health, Socio-Economic transformation, Water, Energy, Road, etc”, she said.
Hajia Atunse pledged the commitment and support of the women folk to the State government in improving the well-being of the women in the State.

The NCWS also noted that the wife of the Governor, Mrs Omolewa Ahmed has through her LEAH Charity Foundation touched “lives unimaginably, particularly women and children”.
In his remarks, the State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed said his administration’s programmes and policies are women and children friendly because women play complimentary and exemplary roles in family and nation building.

Governor Ahmed said women in the State access the over N700million Small and Medium Scale Enterprises reolving loans through cooperative society to empower them financially.

He promised that his administration will continue to carry out programmes that will enhance the well-being of the women folk in the State.
