The Obi of Issele-Uku in Delta State, Henry Ezeagwunam, and one of his sons, Sunny Ofili, who was the Special Adviser to the Governor of Delta State on Information and Communication Technology, were killed in an accident at Utulu, along the Asaba — Benin Expressway on Saturday.
They were burnt to death after the Sport Utility Vehicle driven by the traditional ruler rammed into a truck (Edo FUG 238 XA) loaded with gravel and burst into flames at about 3.pm.
Eyewitnesses said Ofili was on the passenger seat. The rear tyres of the truck were deflated as a result of the impact of the SUV which was totally burnt.
Rescue teams led by the Federal Road Safety Corps made frantic effort to remove the burnt bodies that were trapped in the SUV.
Officials of the FRSC had hectic time controlling traffic on the expressway as there was a huge gridlock after the accident.
Ofili, who was aspiring to contest the state House of Assembly election to represent Aniocha North constituency, was said to have monitored the Peoples Democratic Party primary election in his council area before embarking on the journey with the monarch.
Meanwhile, the Onitsha Traditional Council has announced the death of a former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Francis Chike Offodile SAN, the Onowu Iyasele (Traditional Prime Minister) of Onitsha.
A statement issued by the council on Saturday, said Offodile died at the age of 92 years on Sunday, August 3, 2014. Punch
Look at how Sunny Ofili died! How often do people die in an auto
accident and got burnt beyond recognition? But the truth is that Sunny
Ofili represented evil hampering the unity and advancement of his own
Igbo people. You can oppose me all you want; but there must be a reason
why this evil man, Sunny Ofili, died the way he did.
Sunny
Ofili was a Delta Igbo, but hated the Igbo from the South East so much
that he spent his entire life vigorously championing campaigns against
any form of unity, cooperation or collaboration between the Delta Igbo
and South East Igbo. He openly attacked Delta Igbo officials who are
members of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, an apex Igbo cultural group. He hated South
East Igbo with a passion for no just reason. The
Mighty hands of God Almighty simply bore down on him as punishment.
Sunny
Ofili represented pure evil and deserves a closed casket burial. I hope
this will teach his disciples or those like him a lesson. Certain
things you simply cannot get away with, especially toying with nature.
Nature is behind the natural history of the Igbo or any tribe or group
of people. Thank Jesus Sunny Ofili has gone to hell. It will make sense
to send his charred remains to the Edo Kingdom where he claims affinity
or ancestry. That will make him happy wherever he might be.
Yours is one of the most stupid statements I have come across…. So cos he died this way is a sign of his wickedness…..we will see how u will die and judge how good u are….. Coming from an adult your thinking is shallow and totally juvenile……. Smh
This outpour of raw hate to a fellow man is sinful. The writer of this piece of garbage is simply showing his lack of history. Ofili had a right to tell his own history, that being that his ancestors came from Benin and this is the FACT. Hateful outbursts like this shows the writer’s shortcomings and ignorance. Ofili was a victim of a horrific accident and has not to do with paying a price for his beliefs. The Pope could have died likewise.
