Senate President Bukola Saraki has said that the defection of Senator Godswill Akpabio from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not a national issue.
Saraki also said he would not talk about Akpabio’s resignation as the Minority Leader in the Senate because it was also not a national issue.
Addressing a world press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, Saraki said he could not afford to talk about presidential ambition at a critical time when the National Assembly came under siege by men of the Department of State Security (DSS).
”When the time is right, I’ll talk about the issue of presidency,” he said.
