The Enugu State Government, on Tuesday, announced the death of Mr. Uwakwe Abugu, the Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor.
A statement by Mr. Ogbuagu Anikwe, Commissioner for Information, stated that Mr. Abugu died yesterday in a hospital in India after a protracted illness.
The State Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, had already visited late Abugu’s Enugu residence to condole with the family, the statement added.
Late Abugu was appointed Chief Press Secretary in June 2015.
Before his appointment, he was the South East Bureau Chief of New Telegraph Newspaper.
The state government said that the burial arrangement would be announced by the family.
