The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Edo State Chapter, is set to hold its 2017 annual award ceremony.
The ceremony holds today (Tuesday) at the Media Centre of Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City by 4pm.
According to a statement that was jointly signed by the Chapter Chairman, Com. Ahmeed Agbona and the award committee chairman, Timothy Omobude, this year’s event will feature awards to distinguished persons who had made immense contributions to the development of sporting activities in the state.
The expected awardees include the State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki; His Royal Highness Stephen imadomwinye, the Enogie of Obagie Nevbuosa; the National Chairman of Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Rev. Samuel Ikpea; Chief Fatai Aliu, amongst others.
