Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu- Ejidike, has joined millions of Nigerians in congratulating the Super Eagles on the 2-0 victory over Iceland yesterday in the ongoing world cup in Russia.
Speaking from his base in Ilorin immediately after the match, the sports philanthropist and Chairman of Anambra State Karate Association, expressed joy over the win which he opined would greatly help to douse the pressure on the team and its officials.
” The victory was a great and timely and it would help to reduce the pressure and tension in the team. Much more, the team can now look forward to the other games with confidence”, he stated.
Ejidike went on to admonish the team to go for total victory against Argentina in its last group match on Tuesday next week.
“I want to encourage the boys to go for total victory against Argentina in the next game in order to move to the next stage.
” They must not rest on their oars because that victory over Iceland has renewed the hope and belief of soccer loving Nigerians in the team,” he added.
