The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has disclosed that it is currently spreading its tentacles to seal more overseas sponsorship deals for the national teams.
The NFF had earlier noted that it would no longer renew the contracts of some of it’s partners whose deal with the federation had expired, even as its President, Amaju Pinnick had said that some of the sponsors have indicated their readiness for new deals.
Pinnick stated that the federation has only two contracts that are currently running, stressing that it receives less than N300 million currently from its sponsors.
He disclosed that the NFF is in touch with some foreign organizations for sponsorship talks, adding that he did not rule out indigenous and corporate organizations operating in the country.
The NFF president noted that some of the foreign sponsors will negotiate and prepare the Super Eagles for international friendly matches that would prepare the team for the remaining 2018 World Cup qualifying matches
“We are currently in touch with some foreign organizations for the sponsorship of the national teams. They may not give us cash, but could negotiate and prepare our teams for international friendly matches. Hopefully by April, this may work out as we planned.
“We operate with only two sponsors at the moment, which gives us less than N300 million.
