The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is finalising arrangements to hire a Serbian coach for the Super Eagles. National Mirror learnt on good authority that some members of the technical and development committee of the NFF chaired by Barrister Chris Green will be heading to Serbia soon to scout for a coach, as none has already been pencilled down for engagement.
It was learnt that the would-be Super Eagles coach, though not world class and renown, is handling a club in the country’s topflight. Every negotiations about terms of the European’s employment, will be completed, he gets hired and resumes in Abuja before the final African qualifiers for the Russia 2018 World Cup begins in October.
“The Super Eagles will have a substantive coach from Serbia before the final rounds of qualifiers begin in October,” our source said. Meanwhile, the NFF is proposing that the World Cup qualifying matches would be played in Port Harcourt, Calabar, Uyo and Kaduna.
The first match of the home games would be played in Port Harcourt, especially if the imminent June 24 draw throws Nigeria in the same group with some continental super powers like Cameroun, Egypt and Cote d’Ivoire.
The second clash would be taken to Calabar or Uyo, while the third and final match, especially if the Eagles had booked their Russia 2018 ticket by then as expected, would be taken to Kaduna, we learnt on good authority. – National Mirror.
